committed to your oral health.
We are excited to offer you Toothpic to expand your options
to connect with a dentist while you shelter in place.
Toothpic is a new, modern teledentistry app that offers virtual dental assessments from a professional dentist, right from your smartphone. Delta Dental has partnered with OralEye Limited, the creator of Toothpic.
To submit your case through the Toothpic app, just answer a few short questions about your dental health, tell the dentist your issue or question and take a photo of your mouth with your smartphone. Your report results will come back from a licensed independent dentist within 24 hours, with photo markups on where the issue is noted by the dentist. You’ll get a comprehensive treatment recommendation, with next steps and information on how to find a Delta Dental network dentist.
All you need is a mirror, a brightly lit room or natural sunlight, and your smartphone. We recommend you take the photos in a place that offers some privacy and where you feel comfortable.
The Toothpic app will guide you through the process of taking photos, with clear instructions before and after each specific photo is taken. The app will indicate if your photo is too blurry and prompt you to retake it to ensure the highest quality photo for your report. There is no limit to the number of times you can retake a photo.
If you are experiencing a specific dental issue or have a question about your overall oral health, use Toothpic to:
- Ease your dental concerns and anxieties and provide peace of mind with trusted advice from a professional
- Address low-risk dental issues with at-home care (proper brushing, over-the-counter pain relief, etc.)
- Receive first-response remote care through teledentistry and get next steps on what to do
- Find a dentist and get a pre-diagnosis before you go
dental consultations right from home.
